Thursday Night Football Week 4 - And that's all, folks

I've gotten to watch a goodly amount of Bengals football this season. Such is life in Central Ohio. So maybe tonight I listen to the Jaguars' radio coverage. They'll probably talk about what they've seen all season and I can pretend like I know what I'm talking about with this team by the end of the game.

Cincinnati Bengals versus Jacksonville Jaguars

This one ranks in at #11 on this weekend's Game Power Rankings. (Look for that as late as Saturday)

We're in for a surprising slate of games, Week 4. This is not one of them – unless you're a Bengals fan and you want to get your hopes up about the season. If they weren't at home, I would say that Cinci should be on the lookout for an upset game. The Away team too often no-shows on Thursday night.

But I don't think anyone expected the Jags to show up for more than two quarters, regardless.

Burrow and Chase are heating up, and the offensive line are coming off an impressive day against an admittedly pass rush-limited Steelers defense. The playcalling is starting to get into a groove, then. If I'm right, expect the JAX coaches to have no answers for it.

This is the same Jaguars team that had a lead against the Cardinals last week, though. And weird things happen to teams with rookie quarterbacks. Which I think is how I'm going to have to force myself to think of QBs with fewer than 17 starts, moving forward. I'm looking at you, Tua. Even though it feels like you've been in Miami for three years.

I don't think the Jags have a chance. This feels like a low scoring game heading into the 4th quarter. It probably looks a lot like Jags/Cards last week. Let's go... 32 – 24. Cinci wins.

Wow. This one ended quick. The Power Rankings are organized. This might just be a quiet week of football for yours truly. The Dolphins fan in me is receding into his shell to avoid inevitable bad news – and they haven't poked into the National consciousness yet. And I spent literally eight hours on yesterday's post, and I'm looking forward to spending another 16 or so on tomorrow's.

Literally looking forward to it.

Thanks for stopping by. We'll talk about the game tomorrow, and who knows, maybe something will have gotten in my teeth by then.
